Justice In the Community
vs. unfairness
Taking personal responsibility to uphold what is pure, right, and true
Speaking Up
by Mary Andres Russell
This month’s quality requires us to take a stand and to speak up for what we believe to be pure, right, and true. Justice extends beyond being fair. It combines truth and mercy and demands great love and courage.
At school, Justice is practiced by the friend standing up to the bully who is picking on “the little guy.” In the workplace, Justice is speaking up when industry standards or company culture allow for a policy that we know in our hearts is just not right. In the family, Justice is protecting the innocence of our children by limiting what they are allowed to watch on TV and view on the internet and by monitoring social media activity.
This month, seek the truth in all your interactions, strengthen your moral compass, take action when you witness an injustice, listen to other’s perspectives, and have the courage to speak up for your convictions.
The Links below will take you to Resources you can use with the family or within community organizations
