Timing is Everything

by Mary Andres Russell

Have you ever had to make a tough decision?  Of course.  We all have.  Life is full of choices. What to study? Where to study? Whether to study or go out? Whom to date? Whether to marry?  Where to live?  Whether to accept a job offer?

So many decisions over the course of a lifetime.  And for each, there comes a time when we have to make a decision.  We can put it off, we can continue to ponder, but eventually, we have to decide.

For me, the art of decisiveness is timing.  There is a time for gathering opinions.  There is a time for surveying clients.  There is a time for asking for advice.  And then, when the homework is done, we have to look into our hearts, check our instincts, and choose.  Not blindly, but with confidence and courage, knowing that we have done the work, and with faith, believing that our decisions will have good outcomes.
