Loyalty In the Community

vs. unfaithfulness

Demonstrating commitment to others

To practice Loyalty I will:

  • support my family, friends, and peers
  • stand by others in hard times
  • point out the good in others
  • honor my country
  • help those who are bullied or abused

Who is in Your Corner?

by Mary Andres Russell

Who is in your corner?  Whose corner are you in?

Several months before my Mom passed away, she said to me, “Everybody needs somebody, and I’m glad I have you.”  I was in my Mom’s corner.  At 98, she needed help with things that she could no longer do.  My three brothers, our spouses, and I stepped up in countless ways.

And we loved it.  It was such a joy to care for the person who for all those years, cared for us.  We were loyal to each other.

Loyalty is demonstrating our commitment to others by walking them through hard times and by stepping up when they are in need.  The result?  We form relationships that enrich our lives immeasurably.

Today, show appreciation to those who are in your corner and find ways to deepen your commitment to those you love.

The Links below will take you to Resources you can use with the family or within community organizations
