Princeton City Schools teacher Kausha Mehta was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Character Council which serves Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana. The Character Council is a unique nonprofit organization dedicated to positive character development in children and adults.
Mehta is a third grade teacher at Heritage Hill Elementary in Springdale, who has been teaching character in her classroom for fifteen years.
“I’ve found that teaching character as part of the curriculum has resulted in students who have higher self-esteem and confidence in their learning, as well as better relationships with me and each other,” says Mehta.
Mehta was elected to a four year term as a member of the Board of Directors, which currently includes eight other members. Mehta says she is most excited about helping to build a community of teachers in the Tri-State are who teach character as part of the curriculum.
