Collaboration Curriculum Connection – Science

Symbiosis comes from two Greek words that mean “with” and “living.” It describes a relationship between two organisms from different species that is sometimes, but not always, beneficial to both parties. When it is beneficial to both parties, it is known as Mutualism. It is a great example of Collaboration in the animal kingdom. For example, the clownfish is immune to the stinging tentacles of a sea anemone where they can hide from their predators. The benefit for the sea anemone is that the presence of the clownfish attracts other fish that the anemone can eat.
