Celebrating 20(+1) Years of Inspiration in the Tri-State Region

On October 21, we will gather to honor the 2021 Heroes of Character and celebrate the 20th (+1) Anniversary of the Character Council. These Heroes have been nominated by their peers as upstanding citizens and people of character, and represent the best of the Tri-State area. They come from all over the region, from different backgrounds and walks of life. They are willing to do the right thing, no matter who is watching. They set an example of care and compassion in our communities. They may never have met before this event, but they are connected, nonetheless – by their character.

Master of Ceremonies this year will be Tyler Bradshaw. Bradshaw has hosted a number of our events and we are pleased to welcome him back once again. He is an educator, announcer, and enthusiastic public speaker. Tyler currently serves as an Associate Director in the Office of Admission at Miami University, coordinating nationwide recruitment efforts for Ohio’s original Public Ivy. Tyler recruits in Columbus, Ohio, and helps co-manage Miami’s Red Brick Roadshow (a multi-city admitted student event program). Tyler has spoken to thousands of college-bound students across the country since joining the Miami staff in 2011. Additionally, Tyler’s voice is well-recognized in local athletic communities as a dynamic announcer and broadcaster. He announces games for a number of different teams throughout Greater Cincinnati. Tyler is a member of the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Board of Directors, helping those with physical and developmental disabilities play the game of baseball in an accessible, state-of-the-art facility. Tyler is a passionate advocate for mental health issues as well. After losing his Father, Scott, as a victim of suicide in 2013, Tyler started SeeyaBub.com. Seeya Bub is a blog where Tyler discusses the difficulty he faced in losing his Dad, covering topics related to grief, mental illness, and suicide prevention. He now speaks at schools, churches, and other community organizations about the importance of mental health, carrying on his Dad’s memory and story.

Keynote Address this year will be Bleuzette Marshall. Bleu is a University of Cincinnati alumna, currently serving as the Vice President of Equity, Inclusion, and Community Impact at UC. In her role, she manages the university’s inclusion efforts- providing strategic leadership for the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse talent and building mutually rewarding partnerships in the broader community.

Since this year’s Heroes of Character Celebration and 20+1 Anniversary of the Character Council is virtual, we’re handling ticket sales a bit differently. Each ‘ticket’ purchased allows one household (up to four people) to login to the virtual celebration and participation in all of the festivities. It also includes the delivery of one Swag Package which includes materials for all members of the household to participate in the event physically as well as virtually, as well as some branded merch from the Character Council.

IF you have more than 5 people, addon admission for the household is available for a small upcharge. (Be aware: We encourage you to follow safe gathering guidelines as suggested or mandated by your state. If you will have a large group gathering at your viewing location, please practice safety measures.)

Pricing:

Household of up to 4 people: $75
Each additional person: $5

Please note: Swag Packages for local addresses within the Tri-State area will be delivered by a volunteer of the Character Council. Addresses that are outside that range will be shipped. We are not responsible if a package sent via postal service is lost or damaged in the mail. Please contact us if you have any issues, and we will do our best to help – we want everyone to enjoy this celebration!

We will do our best to ensure delivery ahead of the event, but we cannot predict delays in shipping that may occur.

Order Processing:

Once you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email. If you have opted to pay by check, the confirmation email will have instructions and an address for payment. Both confirmation emails will include a link to a form that MUST be filled out before October 8, 2021. You will receive reminder communication if it is not completed on time. You will receive an instructional email that explains how the login process is going to work in more detail.
